Bonnaroo 2014 Cinema Tent To Feature Shearer, Farrelly Brothers, Wain


With just under a month until the start of Bonnaroo 2014, the main news is starting to roll more often. Today, May 1, Bonnaroo lineups unveiled one of its most popular attractions is not concerts, The Cinema Tent.



Bonnaroo Cinema Tent has been a significant improvement in recent years, including numerous cast and director Q & A sessions, themed premieres and viewings. Cinema Tent 2014 lineup continues this trend, with a diverse set of offerings including some well known names in the world of acting , scoring some live cinema , and some interactive projections , along with a lot of documentaries and cult classic movies .

For Filmmaker Spotlight series, Bonnaroo has engaged three legends and hottest up and coming film directors to appear live at Bonnaroo below. First are the Farrelly brothers. Peter and Bobby Farrelly have directed some of the most distinctive comedies of the past 20 years, 

including "Dumb and Dumber ," " Shallow Hal ," " The Three Stooges " and " Something About Mary " . The Farrelly brothers will be laid for a thorough discussion of his body of work as well as the screening of two of his films, the 20th Anniversary Edition of “Dumb & Dumber " and bowling comedy "Kingpin" .

The following is the actor, director and voice artist Harry Shearer. Many fans instantly reconize Shearer’s face as minced lamb Spinal Tap bassist Derek Smalls. Others know him as the voice of many Simpson’s characters, including Ned Flanders and Mr. Burns. Shearer screen and discuss two of his collaborations with Christopher Guest and Michael McKean, “This is Spinal Tap" and” A Mighty Wind”.

The third care center director David Wain star is rising. Wain is a writer and director whose credits include the Emmy Award “Children’s Hospital" and movies like "Wet Hot American Summer." Wain discusses and defend his new movie “They Came Together," starring Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler.

If you are looking for interactive cinema, Bonnaroo has you covered there too. The star of “Drunk History " on Comedy Central , Derek Waters, will appear live at the Tabernacle Theater in a segment called " Derek Waters and friends . " Another Comedy Central program " Brickleberry " also have time in the Cinema Tent with co -creators Waco and Roger Black O'Guin stopping by. Craig Robinson Comedy Performer Tent Tent is reduced by introducing a film screening of his 2013 hit “This is the end.”

Being primarily a music festival, it's no surprise Bonnaroo has a good portion of their slate cinema tent dedicated to music-related films. These include projection of Memphis music scene documentary "Take Me to the River” with a Q & A with director Martin Shore and a concert of stars including Bobby Rush,

William Bell, and Al Kapone . Guitarist and composer Marc Ribot will showcase a live performance of his score for the classic silent Charlie Chaplin "The Kid" and Seun Kuti band will stop talking about his legendary father after a screening of the film "Finding Fela.”

There is also no shortage of cult films that are being reviewed for 2014, including a tribute to the late Harold Ramis. Bonnaroo honor Ramis sifting "Ghostbusters," “Groundhog Day” and " Caddyshack." Other films being screened include golf classic "The Warriors" , the original "Friday the 13th" selected properly, the night of Friday, June 13 , and Patrick Swayze action flick " Road House.
